Daring Baker Challenge - Chocolate Eclairs

One of the things I REALLY love about the Daring Baker Challenge is that I get to use the challenge as an opportunity for friends and family to get together. This month three of my best friends in the whole wide world came over to my parent's house in Virginia Beach, VA and cooked. I have such a good time with those girls (and baking too!!!!).
This month's challenge was chocolate eclairs. YUM! I think everyone liked the eclairs, but we did find that the next morning they were especially tasty!!! :)

This is Heather making the eclair dough.

Jess trying to get an early taste of the eclairs!

Alli :)

So we made a *little* booboo and burnt some of the chocolate filling.... almost ruined a pot! :)

another picture of the burnt chocolate!

before it was burnt, Jess wanted a lil taste

The eclair's fresh out of the oven. YUM!

Scout (my god-dogger) came over to help cook too!

YUM! They sure were tasty!

My dad was sneaking another eclair!

This was a fun challenge. I love sharing my love of food with my friends and family.

I can't wait until next month to get to do it again!

this weekend

Keep your eyes peeled for some great pics from this weekend. Jess and I are headed to Va Beach. On Saturday night the girls (Jess, Alli, Heather, my momma and me) are gonna make the Daring Baker Challenge! I'm sooooo excited. It is going to be great fun.

Additionally, I've been watching the Olympics and I've found a new heart-throb. I pretty much want to marry the swimmer (backstroke) Aaron Piersol. So CUTE.

Just thought I would share that ;)

P'Nut is coming!!!! Stay tuned in early November!

This weekend I spent some time with my BFF Heather.
We went to Babies'R'Us and registered for Heather's baby stuff.
It was a really fun time.  4.5 hours later, we left, exhausted!
It was a great day though.  :)

The baby's room is sooo cute!

Look at that cute Pottery Barn motif!

Already the kid is CUTE!  Holy cow!  Look at that face!!!  :)

Hmmm.... Could a little girl be in the cards for Mike and Heather?!!?!
I'll be happy as long as the baby is healthy, but secretly I'm hoping for a girl.
I mean honestly, little girl's clothes/accessories are WAY cuter that little boy clothes!

In honor of my hoping p'nut turns out to be a little girl,
I bought the kid a leopard bib and pacifiers with BLING!  SOOOOO GREAT!

My Childhood Home

Soooo, most of you know the story of my parents moving... For those of you who don't know, here is the story. My gramps moved in with us, and as he got older, it was more difficult for him to go up and down the stairs of my childhood home - we'll call it house "A". About that time, the house directly next door to my parent's house came up for sale. My parents purchased the house next door - we'll call that house "B". My parents moved there and rented out our old house (house A). After my gramps died, the p's decided to move back to house A. Sooo, they sold house B and moved back into house A. This happened a few months ago. Since that time, my parents have wanted to spruce up house A and get her ready for sale too.

SOoo... This is where the pictures come in... Here are some pics of what is going on at house A these days... my pops is adding on to the front of the house. Now, for those of you who have known me forever, you know that the area of house A receiving a facelift is MY ROOM!!!!!! :) YAYAYAYAYAYAYyyyy! I doubt I'll get to keep it after this big remodel is done, (the p's are thinking about turning it into the master suite) but at least at one point it *was* my room! haha :) Ok, for now, enjoy the pics. Pops, it looks awesome! Great job!
