Survey Says

You know I'm getting really tired of people blaming George Bush for everything. Seriously, GROW UP. Since when has *any* president single handedly been responsible for a hurricane and its destruction? Since when has *any* president been responsible for a second hurricane and its impending wrath? And since when has *any* president been solely responsible for a bus exploding?

Survey says - NEVER.

Please don't think that I am by any means making light of the tragedy that has struck our gulf areas in the past few weeks, or the destruction that lays in the wake of hurricane Rita, but I am however, going to defend our president in this trying time.

Today, a bus blew up carrying some elderly people fleeing the path of Rita. The initial reports say there was a mechanical problem and then the oxygen tanks carried by some of the senior citizens exploded. So that being known, I come into work today - this is where the drama begins:

"we have done NOTHING over the past few years to protect ourselves from something like this" "our personal security is not the concern of the current administration"

Seriously? Did they just say that?! Those of you who know me, know I am pretty boisterous when it comes to my opinions about politics and especially G-dub, but believe it or not, at work I am often times pretty quiet on political issues. Sure, I have my pics of me and Newtie G, Sean Hannidy, and G. Allen up on my bulletin board, but other than that, I don't argue politics a whole heck of a lot while at work. Call me chicken, or call me just plain outnumbered (or smart as I would like to think), I don't care. The fact still remains it is me against the world here at work politically.

All of that being said, I just want things to be fair. I know I busted Bill Clinton's (everyone's super hero here) chops more than once on issues he probably had no real control over, but lets be honest - Gdub isn't singularly to blame for the disasters of Katrina and soon to be mess from Rita. It isn't George Bush's fault a bus blew up today. Survey says - Let's be realistic.
